Breaking the Wake at the Lake of the Ozarks

On the evening of Saturday, October 10th, a pontoon boat capsized in the Gravois Arm of the Lake of the Ozarks near the 2 Mile Marker. The boat, a 2015 Adventurer Pontoon, reportedly encountered a large wake and overturned. Local sources report that multiple passengers on board the vessel sustained minor injuries; however, none of the injured parties sought medical treatment following the incident. An investigation conducted by the Missouri Highway Patrol determined that the incident was most likely caused by turbulence created by heavy boating traffic that day. There was not sufficient evidence at the scene to find any of the water crafts being operated nearby at fault for the accident.
